Celebrating Irish Roots with Heritage Wool at Slane Castle
Knitted is a photographic series exploring fading traditional skills, local industry, landscape and community of a town in Donegal.
Portraits of knitters sit together with locals styled in contemporary knitwear by Irish designers. Hand knitted or machine made, the process continues to bind community
The Kilcar yarn factory Donegal Yarns, blending history and innovation, features throughout the series, musing on materiality. The series honours a craft and its people, and prompts reflection on how knitwear is evolving today.
The event combines photography, sound installation and a panel discussion. This collaborative project is presented by photographer Linda Brownlee and stylist Aisling Farinella "7 Friday November 21st.
